application process

The following steps should be taken by prospective applicants:

  1. You must apply for admission to a Ph.D. program in one of the participating departments, schools, or programs at The University of Texas to be eligible to apply for this IGERT traineeship. Participating departments/schools/programs include: Architecture, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering (Architectural Engineering program, Environmental and Water Resources Engineering program, Materials Engineering program), Economics, Mechanical Engineering, Medicinal Chemistry (College of Pharmacy), Microbiology, Cell and Molecular Biology, Psychology, and Toxicology.
  1. Check the list of Faculty Participants in the IGERT program to assure that there is a faculty participant in the program to which you have applied who has expertise in an area for which you have an interest.
  1. Review the Priority Research Areas listed elsewhere on this website. Consider how your personal interests in indoor environmental science and engineering match with these priorities. You are encouraged to elaborate on this issue in your application letter.

Download the application form from this website. Review the instructions carefully. Prepare all necessary application materials and mail to the address indicated on the application form. You may submit the application package to this address at the same time as you apply to the Ph.D. program of your choice at UT, or after you have already been admitted to that program.

During any stage of the application process you are welcome to contact the IGERT Program Coordinator.
