The City of Austin (website)

Austin is the capital of the U.S. state of Texas and the seat on Travis County. Situated in Central Texas, it is the fourth-largest city in Texas and the 16th-largest in the U.S., as well as the third fastest growing large city in the nation from 2000 to 2006. Austin is a hot spot for creativity and embraces its community of musicians, artists, entrepreneurs and progressive thinkers. But that’s not all that forms our landscape. As the gateway to the Texas Hill Country, rolling hills and sparkling waterways abound in Austin.
