Students in the Integrated Design capstone course, taken by architectural engineering and dual-degree students, make presentations during a symposium in which alumni and industry representatives review and comment on their work. A program that leads to both the Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering degree and the Bachelor of Architecture degree from UT's School of Architecture is available to qualified students. This dual-degree program is excellent for students who have a strong aptitude for architectural design as well as engineering.

The dual-degree program combines the course requirements of both degrees. Since the dual-degree program requires more hours than an Architectural Engineering or an Architecture degree alone, it requires about one to two additional years to complete.

Prospective students who wish to pursue a Bachelor of Architecture, a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering, or both degrees simultaneously must apply through UT's Office of Admissions. Current undergraduate students in architectural engineering who wish to pursue a simultaneous major with Architecture must apply for transfer admission to the School of Architecture according to the procedures and deadlines established by the School. Admission into the School of Architecture is limited; detailed admission information for the School of Architecture is available from the School.

If you are unsure whether to pursue a Bachelor of Architecture degree, a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering degree, or the dual degree, you are encouraged to review the current catalog's degree plans for both the Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering and the Bachelor of Architecture. We have additional information about the dual-degree program in our FAQs.
