Interests
Dr. Barrett's research interests are focused on the quality, impacts, and mitigation of urban, agricultural, and construction site stormwater runoff and he has conducted numerous studies nationwide in this area. These projects involved the statistical analysis of water quality data, the evaluation of structural and nonstructural best management practices, and the development of watershed based stormwater management plans. Dr. Barrett is a member of the Hydrology, Hydraulics, and Water Quality Subcommittee of the Transportation Research Board, and the ASCE Urban Water Resources Research Council. Projects Dr. Barrett has participated in are briefly described below.

Education
B.A., The University of Texas at Austin, Sociology, 1975
M.A., The University of Texas at Austin, Geology, 1979
M.S., The University of Texas at Austin, Civil Engineering, 1992
Ph.D., The University of Texas at Austin, Civil Engineering, 1996
