Interests
Dr. Hodges' interests are centered on environmental fluid mechanics. His work typically involves studying the physics of transport in surface water (lakes, rivers, estuaries and wetlands) and linkages between hydrodynamics and water quality. This includes areas such as internal wave propagation, stratification effects in estuaries that lead to hypoxia, and the flow around large woody debris in rivers that affects aquatic habitat. Dr. Hodges most recent work has been focused on modeling, but future work will include a greater emphasis on field studies. For more information, see Dr. Hodges' home page.
