Interests Dr. Elena McDonald-Buller is a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. She currently oversees a research group at the Center for Energy and Environmental Resources at UT that conducts air quality studies to assist policy decisions in the State of Texas and to improve the fundamental understanding of chemical and physical processes in the atmosphere. Her research interests include emissions inventory development, in particular the characterization of emissions from mobile sources, atmospheric chemistry, photochemical modeling, emissions trading, applications of satellite remote sensing date for air quality research, and urban and regional air quality issues, notably the impacts of urban development patterns on air quality and population exposure to pollution and intra-and inter- state transport of air pollutants.

Education
B.S., Michigan State University, Civil Engineering, 1990
M.S., Florida Institute of Technology, Environmental Engineering, 1992
Ph.D., The University of Texas at Austin, Civil Engineering,1996
