The month of January 2007 was a busy one for our IGERT Trainees and Affiliates. They met as a group with three distinguished researchers in the field of indoor environmental science and engineering.
Dr. Q. Yan Chen of Purdue University, an international expert on computational fluid dynamics and aircraft cabin air quality, was a distinguished lecturer in the Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering and met with separately with IGERT trainees, affiliates, and faculty.
Dr. Jensen Zhang of Syracuse University, an international leader in the integration of combined heat, moisture and pollutant transport in buildings recently delivered an invited seminar to the Environmental and Water Resources Engineering program and met separately with IGERT Trainees and Affiliates to discuss their research efforts and to share ongoing efforts at Syracuse University.
Dr. Ashok Gadgil, an international expert on computational fluid dynamics and air flow and pollutant transport in buildings met with IGERT Trainees and Affiliates during a recent trip to Austin. Dr. Gadgil learned about Trainee and Affiliate research efforts and shared some of his team's ongoing research efforts at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, a host institution for IGERT Trainee internships.
