Dr. Edward J. Jaselskis

Ed Jaselskis is a professor in the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering at Iowa State University. He earned his PhD in civil engineering from the University of Texas-Austin in 1988.

He has conducted research in the areas of construction project success and advanced information technologies with funding provided by federal (National Cooperative Highway Research Program and National Science Foundation), state (DOT), and industrial sponsors (Weitz, Western Summit, and the Construction Industry Institute). He has served as a program director for the National Science Foundation in the area of information technology and infrastructure systems.

Dr. Jaselskis is a registered professional engineer in the State of Iowa, and is a member of the Strategic Planning Committee for the Construction Industry Institute.

His presentation “Construction Industry Trends and Implications for the Future Skill Set of Project Managers” investigates emerging trends for the construction industry and describes their implications on project management and construction education programs.
