Professor C. Michael Walton was recently inducted into the Texas Transportation Hall of Honor. 

The hall, established in January 2000, provides the opportunity for transportation professionals to recognize the state's true transportation leaders. It is located in Texas A&M University, and Walton will be recognized by a plaque that will be permanently displayed there. He joins as the 40th member of this Hall of Honor.

Walton has had a long and distinguished career at UT Austin since joining CAEE in 1971.  He is a renowned researcher, and has been recognized by election to the National Academy of Engineering. He is an authority in the areas of freight planning and policy, intelligent transportation systems and urban planning.

He is a distinguished member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and is a valuable resource for the State of Texas, providing leadership and advice in planning the state's transportation systems.
