Lisa Moretti
Biography
Lisa Moretti completed her B.S. in Environmental Engineering at Tufts University in 2006. She finished her M.S. in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering at UT with Dr. Reible in 2008.
Research Focus
Organoclay is clay modified to be organophilic and can acts as a sorbant for organic liquids. As an active capping material, organoclay reduces the flux of organic contaminants from the sediment into the water table. I will be evaluating organoclay as a capping material for non-aqueous phase liquid (NAPL) contaminated sediments. I will also be assessing the fate and transport of NAPL in organoclay-capped sediments.
