Biography

Tim grew up an Army Brat and lived in various cities from Kansas City, Missouri to Fort Belvior, Virginia. He graduated from high school in Aurora, Colorado (Overland High School) and then attended the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York. During his tenure as a Cadet, Tim competed as a member of the Wrestling (freestyle) Club and was a two-time intramural champion (wrestling and rugby). Tim graduated in 2003 with a B.S. in Human and Regional Geography with an Environmental Engineering track. Following graduation, Tim served for almost 6 years as an Infantry Officer in the U.S. Army. From Fort Campbell, Kentucky to Ar Ramadi, Iraq, Tim enjoyed serving his country and working with some of this Country's finest Citizens. Finally, Tim decided that he wanted continue his education and came to the conclusion that there was no better place to spend 2 years studying and meeting new people than in exciting Austin, Texas.

Research

Tim's research focuses on Diffusive Gradients in Thin Films (DGT) specifically oriented on measuring Mercury contamination levels in water and sediments. Tim enjoys competing on the EWRE intramural teams, watching college football, and anything outdoors.
