Time-of-Day Modeling of Person Trips Using Revealed Preference and Stated Preference Surveys

(PI: Chandra Bhat)

This project will model the time-of-day dimensions of activity participation and travel of Austin area commuters. A combined revealed preference and stated preference analysis will be undertaken using data obtained from a web-based survey instrument. In addition to undertaking the demographic, land-use, and transportation system determinants of time-of-day of participation in activities and travel, the model developed in the project will enable the evaluation of transportation control measures aimed at peak spreading of traffic.

Keywords: Activity-based travel analysis, joint revealed preference and stated preference modeling, peak spreading, time-of-day modeling, mixed multinomial logit models.
