STC 2011 Summit, Sacramento, CA

May 15-18, 2011

The 2011 Summit in Sacramento, CA, promises to be one of the richest and most exciting TC conferences this year. More than 80 sessions will be organized into eight tracks, with more advanced sessions identified as Institutes. Access to the video/audio capture product, SUMMIT@aClick, is included in your registration fee. This means you can see ALL the sessions at your own convenience anytime after the conference, not just the ones you were able to make in person in Sacramento.

Registration includes two receptions, morning and afternoon refreshment breaks, and lunch on Wednesday (Honors Banquet is an optional fee).

If you have never been to Sacramento, it is a delightful small city - - actually feels like a large small town: very walkable, lots of trees, no freeways to cross over. The Summit hotels and conference center are all right next to each other, and the choice of restaurants and pubs outside the hotels within easy walking distance – well, all I can say is, you will be delighted and entertained. Hope to see many of you there!

         Tim OReilly is Keynote Speaker

I am personally so jazzed that STC’s Honorary Fellow and keynote speaker for 2011 is Tim O’Reilly. As creator of a new business model built on collaboration, shared resources, and education, he is a wonderful exemplar for the regeneration of STC. The new STC.org is based on open source software and supplies a platform that end users can build on: both of these innovations are prime tenets of Tim’s approach to digital culture. Tim’s appearance at the Summit recognizes the value technical communicators bring to, in his words, “spreading the knowledge of innovators.” Check out http://radar.oreilly.com/tim/.
