The successful candidate will have access to experimental facilities for full-scale testing of structural members or systems, facilities for materials testing and high-performance computing facilities.

The Fariborz Maseeh Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering (CAEE) at The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in riverine and coastal systems. We seek a candidate whose research addresses critical challenges in hydrology, flood prediction, coastal and hurricane-related physical processes and/or the impacts of extreme weather events, including protection strategies. Emphasis will be placed on research involving field studies (including remote sensing) and/or laboratory experiments. The successful candidate will show potential for interdisciplinary collaboration within the department, across campus and with national and international partners.

The Fariborz Maseeh Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering (CAEE) at The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a tenured, Endowed Chair position in the areas of Integrated Systems and/or Engineering for the Extreme. The Department seeks applicants in all relevant areas of engineering, with special emphasis on the following two topic areas:
- Integrated Systems: Integrate technical and human considerations to address complex challenges and create solutions that harness the synergies between technology, operational processes, the natural environment and society; and/or
- Engineering for the Extreme: Design and build for extreme environments, extreme events and/or extreme and uncommon stressors
