About
Carlos H. Caldas is a professor at The University of Texas at Austin in the Fariborz Maseeh Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering. He has a Ph.D. in civil engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and has more than eighteen years of experience in construction engineering and project management. In his doctoral research, he specialized in construction engineering and project management, as well as in computational science and engineering.
Caldas is a board member of the International Association for Automation and Robotics in Construction. He was the chair of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Computing Division, chair of the Construction Industry Institute (CII) Academic Committee and chair of the ASCE Technical Committee on Database and Information Management. He is also a member of the ASCE Construction Research Council, the ASCE Technical Committee on Data Sensing and Automation and the ASCE Technical Committee on Visualization, Simulation, and Information Modeling. Caldas currently serves as a specialty editor for the ASCE Journal of Construction Engineering and Management.
