Admittedly the title is a bit much, but it does describe the class focus!  This 3-credit summer short course involves students in intensive field and computer lab work in organizing a field experiment, collecting data and visualizing/analyzing data.  Students get practical field experience as well as an introduction to Matlab software.

In 2006 and 2007 this was taught for graduate students only.  I am hoping to expand the course to upper-level undergraduates in 2008.
