Dr. Fernanda Leite has been selected by the American Society of Civil Engineers – Construction Institute to receive the 2019 Daniel W. Halpin Award for Scholarship in Construction.

The award was established to acknowledge individuals who have demonstrated exceptional scholarship that improves construction engineering as a science. The award was named after Daniel W. Halpin - a leading authority in using simulation in the study of construction processes.

The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) comprises of individuals whose profession plans, designs, constructs, and operates society’s economic and social engine – the built environment – while protecting and restoring the natural environment.

Fernanda’s academic contributions are at the vanguard of innovation. Her interests in utilizing information technology for construction project management and building information modeling are examples of her highly renowned contributions.

She will be recognized for this award at the Construction Research Congress in Montreal, Canada, on June 12, 2019.
