Please visit our Department’s Graduate Admissions website at http://www.caee.utexas.edu/prospective/graduate/admissions for information on the application procedure. You must apply online using the Cockrell graduate application, and you will need to pay the application fee, submit GRE scores, TOEFL score, a statement of purpose, resume (optional but recommended), 3 letters of recommendation, and transcripts from all universities attended.

Our transportation program offers a challenging and rigorous academic environment while also providing personal and close interactions with faculty members. We also have several student organizations that meet on a regular basis that provide the opportunity to interact with other students in the program. You will find details about our program at our website: http://www.caee.utexas.edu/dept/area/trans/trans.html.

Our experience from previous years is that our average admission rate is about 20% of applicants. Students admitted to our program tend to receive some form of support, because of the active and dynamic research program of our faculty.

Beyond this, we are unable to provide anything more definitive regarding your chances of admission into our program. We have to consider several factors in admitting students, and we can do so only after we have received your full application materials.

If you have any questions about applying, please email the Graduate Coordinator for the Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering, Ms. Velma Vela, at velma.vela@utexas.edu.
