Transportation Engineering Graduate Student Awards:

UT-ITE student chapter Traffic Bowl Team won the District competition held during the 2015 TexITE Spring Meeting in College Station on March 12, 2015. The team went on to represent the Texas District in the international competition in Florida at the ITE 2015 Annual Meeting and Exhibit in August 2015. Members of the 2015 UT Traffic Bowl Team are: Ben Wallach, Venktesh Pandey, Solomon Nyanhongo, and Rachel James (alternate).

MS student, Michael Levin, supervised by Dr. Stephen Boyles, was selected as the 2014 Outstanding Student of the Year for the Data-Supported Transportation Operations and Planning (D-STOP) Tier 1 University Transportation Center, awarded by the Council of University Transportation Centers.

PhD student, Meredith Cebelak, supervised by Dr. C. Michael Walton, received the 2014 SWUTC William J. Harris Outstanding PhD Student Award, awarded by the Southwest Region University Transportation Center.

PhD students, Prasad Buddhavarapu and Pedro Serigos, and MS student, Franco Di Biase, all supervised by Dr. Jorge Prozzi, were chosen to participate in the 2015 IRF Road Scholar Program as an Executive Fellow, held in Washington D.C. during January 7-15, 2015.

PhD student, Meredith Cebelak, supervised by Dr. C. Michael Walton, received a $3000 scholarship through ITS Texas in November at the ITS Texas 2014 Annual Meeting.

MS student, Kristie Chin, supervised by Dr. C. Michael Walton, received the 2015 Outstanding Student Award, awarded by the Texas Institute of Transportation Engineers to recognize the outstanding student member in each of the TexITE Student Chapters.

The ITE student chapter at UT Austin was selected as the outstanding student chapter in the Texas District for 2015.

Michael Levin received a 2014-2015 Eisenhower Graduate Transportation Fellowships, awarded by the Universities and Grants Programs of the National Highway Institute, Federal Highway Administration.

MS student, Kristie Chin, supervised by Dr. C. Michael Walton, was chosen for the 2015 Eno Transportation Foundation’s Leadership Development Conference, held in Washington D.C. on May 31-June 4, 2015.

MS student, Carine Choubassi, supervised by Dr. C. Michael Walton, received the 2014-2015 Leadership Legacy Scholarship, awarded by the Heart of Texas Chapter of Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS).
