Another important simulation system is a Façade Thermal Lab designed for development and performance testing of building envelope elements. This lab is designed to conduct outdoor performance experiments on various materials and design solutions in an effort to test the efficiency of innovative façades, glazing materials, shading elements, window integrated ventilation systems, and other energy-efficient building technologies. The Façade Thermal Lab is located on the roof of the University of Texas School of Architecture building and supports collaborative research between researchers in the School of Architecture and the Building Energy and Environments program.
