The Building Energy and Environments community utilizes a wide range of cutting-edge physical simulation systems, including:

  • 14 stainless-steel test chambers ranging in volume from 3-L to 300-L
  • Two stainless steel rooms (11 and 15 m3) with environmental and air flow controls
  • A “family” of five breathing thermal manikins
  • A human sneeze/cough simulator
  • A large family of wind tunnels

In addition to these resources, the Building Energy and Environments community uses three unique large-scale test facilities; including a 70 m3 stainless steel environmentally-controlled test room, a thermal façade lab and a full-scale 120 m2 test house.
