Kara Kockelman

Dr. Kara Kockelman, the Dewitt Greer Centennial Professor of Transportation Engineering, has been appointed president of the North American Regional Science Council (NARSC).

The NARSC encourages the exchange of ideas and knowledge that apply to urban and regional phenomena around the world. Members come from a variety of academic areas, including economics, agricultural economics, public policy, urban planning, civil engineering, geography, finance, and demography.

Dr. Kockelman’s primary research interests include planning for shared and autonomous vehicle systems, the statistical modeling of urban systems, energy and climate issues, the economic impacts of transport policy, and crash occurrence and consequences.

Dr. Kockelman will deliver her Presidential Address at the 67th NARSC Conference in San Diego, California later this year.
