About

Javad Mohammadi is an assistant professor in the Fariborz Maseeh Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering, as well as an affiliate faculty member in the Chandra Family Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Cockrell School of Engineering.

His research includes applications of optimization and AI in power grids, electrified transportation systems, smart buildings, and smart cities and developing multi-agent optimization and distributed machine learning methods. His group also investigates modeling implications of transitioning to a low-carbon energy economy through integration of clean energy sources.

Mohammadi was recently honored with the NSF CAREER award and the Air Force Office of Scientific Research’s Young Investigator Program Award.
