CAEE Academy of Distinguished Alumni, Class of 2024

This month, the Department of Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering held its annual banquet to induct new members into its Academy of Distinguished Alumni. The 2024 inductees include Andrés Andújar, Micheal Lee, Fariborz Maseeh, Kevin Moore, Stephen Seeds, Ken Stokoe, Dick Wade, and John Wall. We extend our gratitude to these alumni for their decades of remarkable contributions to engineering and beyond.

Magi Richani recognized as the 2024 Outstanding Young Alumna

The Fariborz Maseeh Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering recognizes Magi Richani as the recipient of the 2024 Outstanding Young Alumni Award. Richani attained a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering in 2011. Richani’s legacy at the department includes the Undergraduate Advisory Board, which she established while during her undergrad.

Dr. Todd Helwig Selected as the 2025 Recipient of SSRC's Lynn S. Beedle Award

The Structural Stability Research Council (SSRC) has recently announced that UT Professor Dr. Todd Helwig was selected as the 2025 Lynn S. Beedle Award Recipient. Dr. Helwig holds the Jewel McAlister Smith Professorship in Engineering. His primary area of interest is the design and behavior of steel structures with an emphasis in full-scale testing, field monitoring, structural stability, fatigue, and stability bracing requirements.

The award identifies SSRC members who have contributed to the field of structural stability globally and who are leading figures in the industry.

Dr. Helwig will be honored at the 2025 Annual Stability Conference in the spring.
