Since 1921, the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) at the University of Texas has been a perfect compliment to and integral part of the educational experience and career preparation for civil engineering students here at the University of Texas at Austin. ASCE student members have a greater understanding of their career interests and opportunities from the knowledge they receive at our chapter meetings from industry professionals.
Members that get involved gain technical understanding from team competitions such as the Steel Bridge and Concrete Canoe Competitions. We gain leadership experience through responsibilities within the society. We enjoy camaraderie within our ASCE family and establish lifelong professional and personal friendships. We shape and improve the community through outreach opportunities to serve the environment and the people.

by the Horns!
Members enjoy bi-weekly meetings with dinner, socials, intramural sports, ASCE technical competitions, company site visits, internship and full-time job opportunities, scholarship opportunities and more.
As a chapter of this Society, our officers and dedicated members are committed to the success of civil engineers both in personal and professional life. We are interested not just in the prosperity of those who come to the meetings and pay dues, but of all those who set foot in ECJ with hopes of building great things for our community. Come join us in this commitment to future generations.
